Anti-Blog

I used to like this joke:

What is brown and lurks at the bottom of the Star Ship Enterprise?

The answer was:
The Captain's Log.

I used that joke with students, whenever I would ask them to keep progress logs. But now -- Blog? It doesn't work.

I don't like the word Blog. It's too close to blag, and big. And bog. And bag. And beg.

Bugger!

If a corporation has long wanted to get rid of some workers this is not easy to do in normal times because a big lay-off would lead to a slump in share price. With the excellent excuse of the credit crunch it now becomes possible to lay off thousands of workers.

My Success Story

As a managing director of a small IT company I faced with a difficult decision regarding the strategic direction of the company. After several away days with arguments at board and management level a friend recommended I try the six hats approach.

In 2 hours we had clearly and fairly discussed seven different options. 2 hours afterward that we had identified which direction to go in with buy in from all key members of staff.
