Gidday Sean, Happy to help. I'm writing about senior students and their essays - 16-18 year olds. For whatever reason, laziness or simply not knowing where to start, I found most, when given an essay, floundered about. Where do we start? - that was…

Why Ted loves his stick men and funny little drawings as you see him producing in the movie clips Parallel Thinking 1-7 on this site. Language is simply not enough Language is definitely ebne Kids instinctively know this, but they are made to sit…

I don't think the type size is too difficult for them, it's just too small to be interesting! If you observe kids doing their incessant doodling, you will find wherever they incorporate text letters, they're always big and stylised, like graffiti le…

That's interesting about the acceleration, isn't it. In fact, this highlights a much less obvious champion attribute of trained thinkers: they can think fast. I once tried to get a school principal who was floating the idea of longer school lesson…

I would be very interested in how Cort could be applied to structure essay writing - I was thinking about the following steps 1. AGO. 2. CAF. 3. FiP and then write the essay. Your thoughts would be very much appreciated!

Very informative reply, thanks Rees and Susan. I'd love to hear some more about how the various thinking tools are used together in sequence, which is what DOCA seems to specialize in doing. Laughingly, I've learned that it's often more constructiv…

thanks Susan-it sounds very useful in making sure that progress is made-that the actual thinking goes somewhere other than circles, which can happen regards Sean

Building on Rees answer: DOCA is used at the end of a thinking session. It looks at the outcome of our thinking and the action steps that follow. It can also be used in the Blue Hats for summarising. D stands for Decision or Design, O for other typ…

thank you very much. I am thinking of its practical application for meeting etc, regards Sean

DOCA designs an outcome to a thinking session. The outcome can be a decision or the next step to a decision. In some cases there may be no outcome. DOCA may also state the channels available for action. It can also state the action steps that may be…

Could you explain its classic use a bit for those of us here who might not be familiar with it?

Greeting

My name is Sean Doran, I am a teacher who is currently the chairman of the National Executive of the Network of School planners Ireland. (www.nspi.ie) I am very interested in progressing the work of De bono in the Irish educational context. I have been particularly impressed with the CORT programme. However I now think that teachers could also benefit immeasurably from DATT, and contribute a clarity of thinking to school improvement activities.

Hi Sean,

Welcome to the debonosociety, I hope we can provide you with a good experience.

It would be great if you could add some profile information to your text box on your page (even a small amount of information) in order to help others converse more easily with you, a photo would be great too.

When we update the site with podcasts we will let you know. Be sure to check in regularly for Edwards updates.

Please feel free to invite all your business associates and colleagues to join. This is an information based website for people to learn from too.

It is our intention to make a part of the site more information based for people new to de Bono and who may just want to ask questions, we are working on this.

Feel free to contact me as you need.

Kind regards. Linda
