I think that was the origional idea of the phone, one that doesnt send texts,i think you made a great point there linda....
May 19, 2009
Perhaps there is an idea in there somewhere... invent a mobile phone that doesn't accept texts or sends texts back to the person who sends them or only accepts texts from people you allow it to.

Well, perhaps I haven't properly understood what the purpose of the site is and my blog entires are inappropriate Perhaps it is for advocacy/discussion-of of EdB's techniques and my blog entries should concern themselves only with that rather than…

Brilliant. Could there be a lock in your car, only usable by legal joy riders? Today there exists a standard lock for air luggage, only to be opened by security personell on airports

Extrapolateral Thinking

The Optimist - "The deckchairs are half full"

The Pessimist - "The deckchairs are half empty"

The oh, so clever, lateral thinker - "Put half the deckchairs on another deck and fill them all"

The Extrapolateral Thinker - "You know how, six months ago, I told you all it would be a really bad idea to asset-strip the lifeboats and you all shouted me down? ... Well, you see that dirty, great iceberg over there ..."

OK ... Is the extrapolateral thinker… Continue

On saving Venice from a watery demise

Many years ago ... if not decades now ... I seem to recall, the CoRT Foundation was employed to devise a 'rescue package' for Venice and save it from its slow, but inexorable, descent into the depths of the ocean.

This seems, to me at least, as good an example as there could be of thought not being applied the matter - The laws of thermodynamics quite simply stipulate that it is a sysiphean task doomed to failure.

Moreover, it is as good an example as there could be of thinking insideContinue

Joy-riding as a Public Service

Whoever conceived of wheel-clamping was, more than evidently, interested merely in the pragmatics of profit:

In order to make a profit the 'service' provider must be in a position to ensure that no offender escapes paying a fine.

In order to maximise profit, this process must be carried out with the least amount of overhead; such as employees.

Given the nature of said 'service' the two contingencies are mutually exclusive - Insufficient employees leads to insufficient profit.

Hence wheel-cl… Continue

Football - Posted by Edward de Bono on April 29, 2009 at 4:23pm

Interesting concept ... Especially in terms of making the World more aware ... (or should that be at all aware?) ... of his contribution to more than simply Mankind, but the World as a whole - Has he received a Nobel (Peace) Prize yet ... and, if not, why not?

Of lesser utility, but, perhaps, more fun, I would propose adopting the multiball feature of pinball games, instead of penalty shootouts.

If the game is a draw at full-time, an extra ball is added to play.

If there has been no decisiv… Continue

I am worried.

My language skills seem to be deteriorating.

It's not merely my foreign language skills that show signs of this, but my native English language skills too!

No, scratch that.

My thinking skills seem to be deteriorating and the language skills are merely a symptom - I just don't seem to think as much, never mind as creatively, as I once did.

Part of the problem is that I have withdrawn from online badinage and confrontation.

I can't abide so-called social-networking and pref… Continue

Hi LoL,

Welcome to the debonosociety. We look forward to all your comments, blogs, videos etc. Ideally, it would be preferable if you can include a profile about yourself, which would facilitate others conversing and sharing ideas with you more easily.

We hope you enjoy the experience. Please invite all your business associates and colleagues to join.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards. Linda
