I have worked with Dr. Edward de Bono for more than fourteen years as his personal assistant. In the early years I travelled with Dr. de Bono and in latter years I worked for him from time to time, on various projects from home. In between these projects, I got married, built a house and raised my two boys. As any working mother will tell you, it’s a challenge! While the work and the kids don’t suffer particularly, I can tell you the house and the laundry does!
It has been a fantastic experience working for Edward it has opened my eyes to so many possibilities and helped me to challenge the status quo. It always amazes me for such clever people (human beings) how narrow minded we can be. How caught up in the practice of argument we become, always trying to prove ourselves right instead of working together.
I trained in Six Hats and Lateral Thinking, promising I would teach my kids without fail, but fail I did, I have recently resolved to fix that asap.
I often wonder how can we take such beautiful, bright young minds and mould them and shape them until we leave nothing to the imagination and no room for change? Why we do not have thinking skills in schools as part of the National Curriculum is so sad and something I vow to change!
I believe happiness lies in our ability to think!

Thanks for your comments. Just to let you know - I'm interested in contributing thoughts in the area of on-line skill-building for members of the de Bono Society in Edward's tools, given I am familiar with the IP mindfield - if you think it would help. Cheers Al

Evidently someone's entry got left out of the competition, when they did post it on their blog in time to be included. The person's name is Milos Arambasic. It is

and as you see it was posted in early Dec. 2009.

There's been a suggestion for the site admin to activate the "groups" feature at

I'd like to invite you to Google Wave and involve you in the collaborative wave of how to use Google wave on this website. Do you have time for learning this? When you do, there's a "playback" feature to bring you up to speed.
Could your web developers make it possible for people to click the 5 hats in the banner? That way you can get people to get used to wear a hat. It would enable you to think under that hat. It would demonstrate the functionality and effectiveness of Edwards hats, only available on line.
Just a thought.
