Audronė Allan replied to Raymund Kwok's discussion Six Thinking Hats: Examples of Benefits
"Thanks, Raymund, I see, you are trying encouraging deeper exploration of the subject matter by using grading / marking scheme. All dBT (CoRT, SHT, Flowcharts etc.) supports deeper exploration. When students have thinking tools they can…"

Audronė Allan replied to Desmond Sherlock's discussion Rethink Perfect - Clear Hat Thinking
"Argument, negotiation and agreement are OK. I believe that we do too much thinking, which is oriented towards argument and agreement. The SHT framework is a chance to escape from that. What about: "Good thinking brings diversity of approaches,…"

Audronė Allan replied to Desmond Sherlock's discussion Rethink Perfect - Clear Hat Thinking
"I have applied “Find Other Ways” to Desmond’s idea of Clear Hat Thinking: • Clear Hat Thinking is skilled use of the Six Hats Framework; it is ability to put one hat at once and keep clear colour of the hat. • Clear Hat…"

My activity in dBT area

I started my journey with de Bono thinking at 1991.

The first ten years have been devoted to active learning, experimentation and sharing good news with collegues in education:
 Curriculum developer and teacher at the experimental school "Achema", where CoRT Thinking has formed the core of the curriculum (1995-1997);
 Teaching thinking for business students (CoRT 1 and SHT) and training art techers (CoRT IV);
 Development of teaching thinking materials and tests for assessing progress;
 Together with colleagues (N.Bizys, G.Linkaityte) published the book “Lessons for Teachers, where CoRT 1, "Six Thinking Hats" and "Six Action Shoes" were been introduced for Lithuanian teachers for the first time;
 Running formal seminars and non-formal learning-circles for teachers introducing Edward de Bono’s ideas and supporting implementation dBT in the clasroom process.

PhD dissertation “Lateral Thinking in Contemporary Paradigm of Creativity Development” was defended in 2001. The work summarised ten years experience of implementation of dBT as an innovation in Lithianian education system.

The activity of the second ten years has crytallized into these directions:
 Integration of dBT into everyday teaching at university practice; working in postgraduate study programmes in area of education;
 Methodological support of research projects in area of teaching thinking as a key competency (in most cases supervision of Master Theses in Education);
 Support of teachers and schools who attempt to implement dBT: training, consultations and help in adaptation of teaching/learning materials;
 Working with my husband, Graeme in developing a network of dBT advocates in Lithuania: spreading of information, supporting new initiatives, initiating mutual sharing of experience locally, nationally and internationally.
