Creative Team

Many years ago I set up a 'Creative Team' which operated for a while but died from lack of attention. I would like to ask you all to consider doing this again. 1000 creative brains! Please submit your ideas here. How you propose this would work.

Profile Information

Hi ... I'm the Chief Executive Officer of the POWA Institute, (pronounced power) a not-for-profit Institute for new thinking located in Perth Western Australia, founded in 2006 in alliance with the not-for-profit de Bono Institute which is based in Melbourne, Australia.
The POWA Institute aims to grow the thinking power of all West Australians so they can deliberately create better futures for themselves, their families, organisations and communities.
I have been an accredited trainer in Six Thinking Hats, Lateral Thinking and Direct Attention Thinking Tools (now known as Power of Perception - PoP) since 2000, trained by Susan Mackie (de Bono Master Trainer - Australia/New Zealand). Susan is the CEO of the de Bono Institute (Australia) and a Director of the POWA Institute
I am also currently undertaking a part-time PHD exploring what happens in the area of complexity leadership when work teams use de Bono's thinking tools. As an early component of my PhD I conducted research with 31 enterprising/entrepreneurial business managers who have been trained and coached in the correct use of de Bono's Lateral Thinking tools and processes and have had a couple of papers published that discuss a model for Creativity-on-Demand that emerged from this research.

Hi Ali,
I just checked out www.powa.org.au again (last time would have been a year ago) - it seems like you've really put some work into it.
I like the presentations on that site a lot - especially how you offer ideas up in small digestible portions augmented with lovely graphics.

Promise I'll tone down the over-analysis too... (Guilty as charged.) Please don't take my "talent" for analysis as a personal attack towards you - I really didn't mean it that way. I respect what you have to say - and your views needed to be said, because so many other people are thinking exactly the same as you wrote.

If you do leave the de Bono society, all your individual posts and threads will automatically disappear, (along with the contributions of others in the threads you started.) It would be a loss that I'd feel very sad about, because you've had so many wonderful things to contribute here. I'd blame myself. Please accept my apology.

I hate the word too, most people think it is the entire concept of creativity. Morons.

Anyway, it was just something I had on this computer, more interesting things to come when I log in again from another machine.

Hi Ali,

I love to get over there and have a chat. Leave it with me and I'll see if I can dig up a Govt contact to start talking too.

best regards

Thanks Ali
The photo was taken in a train carriage somewhere in Italy last month.
I'm back at work now, head still in the clouds (or at least, the Sistine Chapel).
Good to hear from you...What a great site. Your POWA homepage looks good too.

Hi Ali,

Welcome to the debonosociety.

It would be great if you could add some profile information to your text box on your page (even a small amount of information) in order to help others converse more easily with you, thank you for your photo.

When we update the site with podcasts we will let you know. Be sure to check in regularly for Edwards updates. I hope you enjoy the experience.

Please feel free to invite all your business associates and colleagues to join. This is an information based website for people to learn from too. It is our intention to make a part of the site more information based, for people new to de Bono and who may just want to ask questions.

Feel free to contact me as you need.

Kind regards. Linda
