Adonis,

This time your predictions were spot on. There is snow in the air today!

Now can you predict some warm sunshine, please! Or at least a warm house!

Free Willy,

I think, observational cosmology is a science, theorethical cosmology is not. Theoretical cosmology is more speculative which I like and it also means that non-scientists can join;-) And of course there are other universes, it makes the discussions more fun!

Asa.

Everything is true in the name of perception. But for logic we need solid proof. So I may be wrong.

The question 'Is there other universes out there?' If so, I need to expand my whole system to include them also. I sure it interact with ours even the effect is minute. Well better leave it to the scientist.

Hi Free Willy,
Yes, it appears that the idea about a zero-sum game can explain alot. But I see it as a more open question. There is some data suggesting an overall charage imbalance. And then there is the possbility of dark matter which makes it very confusing and interesting. . .

Each system has to survive or else entropy set in. Resources have to be drawn from somewhere unless it is a self-sufficient system. A self-sufficient system does not guarantee its survival. Other system(s) which is not self-sufficient will have to draw resources from somewhere and it could be from the self-sufficient system. If the self-sufficient system has excess resources that match or in excess of other system(s) needs, all system will coexist in harmony – the whole system comprising of these sub-systems will be sustainable. If not, conflict arise and some system will not survive (entropy will set in). The universe is sustainable because it is a zero-sum game unlike its sub-systems which may thrive, stagnant or decay.

What is in your mind (thoughts, ideas, logic, perception, etc) is derived from the surrounding environment and formed within our own personal bubble (be it logic or perception). What was perceived to be a great idea then can be obsolete now. However, this great idea may not be lost forever but evolve or revolve into other great ideas. There’s no point of honoring or criticizing because sooner or later someone will eventually come up with those great ideas.

The universe is a zero-sum game. Resources drawn for the use of one system will cause deprivation for another system or systems. It’s not like what Aristotle said “The whole is more than the sum of its parts.” He is correct if he is referring to a specific system where resources are drawn from outside the system so that the system can thrive. However every system is part of whole system – the universe and it’s a zero-sum game. The complexity is cause by the interaction of each system with other systems. And each system has its logic and/or perception. Logic system can be predicted with certainty. However, perception of living creatures can change over time because of its adaptability to changes by changing its perception. This is my thoughts – correct me if I wrong.

Adonis,
The choice is simple, It is Artistole's idea that is important. And in this case, it can be linked to complexity, on some level.

The gang of three is not responbile for the thoughts that appeared after them. Although, I used to drive my philosophy teacher mad by objecting to their logic, I always defend people when they are accused for things that is not their fault. At that time, their thinking brought thinking forward. Today other ideas will bring thinking forward. What happended in between could be seen as a maturation of their ideas.

We shall neither blame nor honour them, just like we shall neither blame or honour any other person. We shall pick the best of their ideas and move forward, as a person and race.

Adonis,

Lets us start with a famous quote from a Greek philosopher;-)

Aristotle said, “The whole is more than the sum of its parts.”

A whole system can neither be reduced nor deduced from the qualities of its individual parts, for example, the properties of a protein are not equivalent to the sum of the properties of each amino acid. The structure are additonally determined by external factors. So we need to shift the perspective from the whole to the part and to the whole again.

The observer is a crucial component.
