Wondering what that acronym stands for? What is "green hat thinking"? Why does everyone keep saying "po"?

Here is a growing list with descriptions of all Edward de Bono's thinking tools and ideas.

Thanks again, Ken. This is really good. I'm sure we shall all have items to put into the shed, for the use and benefit of all of us.
PO stands for POetry, POssibility, PrOmise, PrObability, PrOvoke, POison, POrn, POllute, POdcast, POlanski, POntificate, POpulate, PrOgnosticate, PrOpagate etc.

PO is issued as a standard challenge to anything as a way of provoking a new perception of that thing or to advance thinking about an issue in a direction to which logic may be all but blind.

In everyday logic, there must be a reason to say something before it is said. With PO the reason for something being said may only be apparent after it has been said.

You go PO to get a rise out of people for sure, but there has to be a good point to getting that rise out of them.

PO is a standard Lateral Thinking tool. It must have pride of place in The Shed. It should never be abused. Care in its use is advised. Some here do get a bit PO-faced here but this, in my view, is a bit silly.

The point is not to run about the place going PO at everything but to do it once and see where it leads. There is nothing logical about PO.
Thumb up for Ken.

It makes our life much simpler. Cut down the search and filter process to find and understand the right meaning of edb's thinking tools.

Suggestion.
1. Why don't you copy and paste it on debonosociety.com site once in awhile. And delete the old posting. You need to some form of control over those documents created.
2. Indicate the last update date. Easier for you to follow up on the cut and paste process.
All of Kim's postings come across as "tongue and cheeky." It's part of Kim's writing tone... This is why it's handy for all of us to act as editors as well as contributors.
I'm glad to know I'm not the only person who thought that. A bit of cheekiness can be good, but.
