I would like to think about getting a Thinking Skills course such as CoRT into the Khan Academy curriculum. If there are insurmountable problems to making this happen or it is concluded not to be a good idea, then I want to lower my sights and aim for making text, video or website link information available or starting a Khan Academy Thinking Club. I also need to persuade Khan Academy to consider adding Thinking Skills to their curriculum.
So, I'm thinking the best way to begin is to collect information on Khan Academy and obtaining licensing from whoever holds the de Bono Thinking Skills intellectual property . I've noticed there is a CoRT Thinking.com as well as numerous other de Bono Thinking related organizations.
Then i would like to look at the benefits of the idea and then the things to be cautious about. Next I want to look at ideas for possibilities from linking to a de Bono website to the creation of a goal based scenarios online Thinking Course and ways to fund licensing if necessary.
Khan Academy is a non-profit, independent educational organization that was started by Mr. Salman Khan to assist relatives with online tutorials. Mr. Khan has made TedTalk presentations that gives more information about the Academy. Khan Academy video lectures are being used by millions of students and are being incorporated into official school programs. Although there are schools adopting CoRT, I think the independence of Khan Academy makes it a very good vehicle for getting Thinking Skills into a curriculum and widely known. The Strategic Initiatives Executive of Khan Academy is from Singapore and may even have been exposed to Six Hats.If you can provide me with information about licensing etc. please join this discussion.
